Ryan Werner is a trial and appellate lawyer with more than 30 years of experience in civil litigation. His experience includes representation of clients in business, real estate, and insurance disputes. Early in his career, Mr. Werner regularly represented insurance companies, handling both coverage disputes and underlying defense work. He now represents policyholders in the arduous task of persuading insurance companies to honor the promises made in their insurance policies. He also works on a variety of other commercial litigation matters.
Mr. Werner began his career at the San Francisco office of Gordon & Rees, where he was an associate, then partner. While at Gordon & Rees he authored chapters on “Claims Handling and the Duty of Good Faith” and “Excess Insurance and the Primary/Excess Relationship” in Matthew Bender’s California Insurance Law & Practice, as well as the “Insurance Contract Instructions” chapter in California Forms of Jury Instructions. He subsequently co-founded and served as managing partner of the litigation boutique Werner & Burke.
When not in court or taking depositions, Mr. Werner spends as much time as possible with his family at his home in the French countryside.
